Any community is only as strong as its families. Through the Maravilla Foundation, no-cost and high-quality social services have been provided to countless neighborhoods, particularly low-income neighborhoods that could benefit the most. Their energy conservation programs not only save our citizens' money, but conserve our natural resources while improving all of our lives. It has been a pleasure to work with the Maravilla Foundation on the many crucial issues facing our low-income communities today. Thank you, Maravilla Foundation.

U.S. Dept. of Energy (DOE) WeatherizationThis program, similar to LIHEAP, provides more than 75 furnace replacements to households within designated zip codes in L.A. County. More than 275 furnaces are installed every year. Since inception of the program, over 3,500 units have been serviced. State of California Lead Removal/AbatementThe serious health problems caused by lead-based paints prompted Maravilla Foundation to join with the State of California Department of Community Services and Development in a unique program to keep young children from being exposed to aggravated blood levels. Households identified as having high lead content levels will get all lead-based paint and other lead-containing elements in their home abated to a safe level. About 170 residences receive these services yearly, and more than 800 have since the program began.
